When we join together from different locations around the world, we can have an even greater impact in helping at-risk women lift themselves out of extreme poverty in rural Kenya. So gather your friends and family for Neema’s fourth annual virtual Solidarity Stomp next month!
Neema’s students and our Kenyan colleagues will kick-off the Solidarity Stomp on May 11th. Join us with your family and friends anytime May 11-14 from wherever you're located in the world. You can run, walk, hike, bike … whatever gets you moving! The full distance is 11.67 km* (7.248 mi), and the half distance option is 5.83 km (3.624 mi).
Together, as we stomp in solidarity, our goal is to raise $10,000 to expand Neema’s counseling services to our students’ guardians. Our students have ongoing access to counselors who help them deal with the trauma they experienced prior to joining Neema. But going home during school breaks can be a negative trigger for our students. By conducting home visits, though, our counselors are able to work in partnership with the students’ guardians to ensure our students a smooth stay at home and bring about long-lasting transformation.
(*11,665 km is the distance between our home base in West Chester, PA and the Neema school in Kitale, Kenya.)
What's a virtual race? It’s a race you do at your own pace, from wherever you're located, and in your own way — run, walk, on the treadmill, on the trail. You choose! Whatever you decide, just do it between May 11th and May 14th. That way we’re all doing it “together.” Be sure to tag @neemaproject with #NeemaSolidarityStomp
