Come visit SHIFT in Narberth, PA to purchase products handmade by our students in Kenya!
SHIFT is a women-owned, Narberth-based business that offers eco-conscious goods and services focused on low-impact living. We offer an online resource for those seeking sustainable choices throughout the Main Line, while also partnering with local businesses and schools to provide green solutions for those striving to become carbon neutral.
Students make grocery bags from upcycled cement bags and line them with African fabric (kitenge). For each bag they make, they receive an income that is saved for them. At the end of their third year in the Neema, these savings help them purchase a sewing machine and starter kit so that they can set up their own shop immediately after graduating.
Check out these grocery bags and more items for sale at SHIFT during June 10-14!
